St. Martin de Porres Parish has a Parish Hall (Hall) located on the St. Ann Campus at the St. John Paul II Catholic Academy, 235 Neponset Avenue. It is primarily used for parish activities such as Youth Ministry, Religious Education, Donut Sunday and Vacation Bible School. CYO Basketball and other parish affiliated organizations/ministries have use of the Hall. Parish events are in coordination with the Neponset Campus of SJPIICA for academy events. Scheduling is coordinated using an internal process between ministry leaders, school administration, the pastor and parish staff.
There is also hall located in the lower church on the St. Brendan Campus and used for parish activities such as Youth Ministry, Religious Education, St. Brendan School and Hospitality Sunday. St. Vincent de Paul also has limited use of the lower church. (This location continues to have water seepage when it rains or during snow melts that will limit its use.) Scheduling is coordinated using an internal process between ministry leaders, school administration, the pastor and parish staff.
Neither location has a functioning kitchen and there is no custodial staff. Use of the Hall or Lower Church is NOT open to outside organizations and/or non-affiliated parish entities or for meetings.
Use of the Hall or Lower Church for the purpose of a parish event and/or for fundraising for the parish will be considered on an individual basis. A proposal should be made in writing to the pastor who will present it to an ad hoc committee comprised of members of the Parish Council and Finance Committee who will consider the request and consult with the pastor who has final approval. Email or verbal proposals will not be accepted and there is no implied approval for any use of either location.* Permission will be granted by the pastor in writing after the above consultation has been made.
Fundraising is to only benefit St. Martin de Porres Parish but can be designated to benefit an increased offertory, utility expenses for either campus, a parish ministry, St. Brendan School, or another not mentioned here but found acceptable after consultation. Restricted fundraising will not be considered.
* Possession of a key that accesses the Hall, Lower Church, St. Ann Church, St. Brendan Church, St. Brendan School, et al does NOT grant use of these locations and should not be utilized for personal use or private events. Possession of a key to any parish facility is for the sole use to benefit the parish and assist the pastor and staff and can be restricted/rescinded by the pastor or authorized parish staff.
Effective July 1, 2023 and subject to change without notice.
